For your final project you will need to select a subject and complete a three chapter assignment. Each chapter should include at least 750 words along with the components that will be outlined below. You should select a subject that interests you so your research is not painful. Your approach should be journalistic and you will need to cite your sources. I will also explain that in greater detail below.

The chapters should be broken down in the following manner:

Chapter 1 - Critical Moment - Due Friday, June 6th by the end of class. If you are absent, on a due date, you will need to e-mail your link to me at rcurrin@aldenschools.org
For this portion of the project, you will need to report on a critical moment in the life of the person that you are writing about. You will need to take a journalistic approach to this writing assignment. In addition to addressing the who, what, when, where, and how, you'll need to highlight the impact that this moment had on your subject. Look at it as a point of redirection in their story. For some further insight, I'll use my Bob Dylan example:

At the time of his motorcycle accident on July 29, 1966, Bob Dylan was so famous that it was almost overwhelming. He was worn down due to an extensive international tour and he was close to the end of his rope. After the accident, Dylan settled into a domesticated lifestyle for the better part of a decade. During this period, he kept writing new music and he worked with a group called The Band. Later, as his marriage came undone, it was this group that he would start touring again with. Dylan has had few breaks from the road since his mid 70s resurgence. The motorcycle accident (that he may have embellished) is a turning point in the life of Bob Dylan.

This component should be no less than 750 words in length and composed on your Creativist account. You should include at least one image in this chapter,

Chapter 2 - Past -
Due Thursday, June 12th by the end of class. If you are absent, on a due date, you will need to e-mail your link to me at rcurrin@aldenschools.org
For this portion of the project, you will need to provide further insight into your subject's story. Start at childhood and take your reader up to the critical moment that your wrote about in chapter 1. The key here is to keep things interesting while providing your reader with a better understanding of your subject.. You're going to need to do some research. I suggest you start looking for CREDIBLE sources right away. When it comes to credibility, the internet is not always your best friend. Library databases and the good old fashioned library are a great place to start. If you're using a website or websites, please check it with me. At the end of the chapter, you'll need to provide a separate citation for any sources consulted. Don't worry about getting all MLA on this, just give your sources a shout out at the end of the chapter. This component should be no less that 750 words in length and composed on your Creativist account. You should include at least one image in this chapter.

In this section, I would discuss Dylan's childhood musical influences, how he was booed off the stage at a high school talent show, and how he left his hometown at a young age to make his way in the New York City folk scene.

Chapter 3 - Choice
Due Monday, June 16th by the end of class. If you are absent, on a due date, you will need to e-mail your link to me at rcurrin@aldenschools.org
For this portion of the project, you've got the option to write about your subject from an angle of your choosing. The key here is to come up with some sort of an angle.

Using my Dylan example, I might write about the impact that Bob Dylan has had on popular music. For example did you know that Darius Rucker's hit song "Wagonwheel" was originally written by Dylan? Exactly. Several artists are more known for their version of a Dylan song that Dylan is in several cases. I don't care what you decide to write about, just be sure that you have a point that you'd like to address. This component should be no less than 750 words in length and composed on your Creativist account. You should include at least one image in this chapter.
